Students visited Comcrop - a pioneer organization in rooftop gardening in Singapore on 30th Oct afternoon. Located at Scape, the students enjoyed the hands on learning about the aquaponic system and plant propagation at the rooftop garden. They had to work in teams to fulfil their given tasks under the supervision of the Comcrop staff. The primary students took turns in feeding the fish and planting seeds in the foam beds while the secondary students were in charge of stem cutting, planting and transferring the seedlings to the pipes. From this practical learning experience, the students picked up much about the symbiotic relationship between plants and animals and ways to achieve sustainable food production through urban gardening.
